The Local Area Planning Program Newsletter will provide updates on local area plans, new area structure plans and the brand-new Local Area Investment Fund, a $20M fund used to implement community enhancements identified in approved local area plans.
Local area plans set the vision for growth and change in a group of communities over the next 30 years and provide direction on development, investment and community improvements that residents, landowners, builders/developers, City Planners and Councillors can commonly refer to as new ideas are proposed.
An Area Structure Plan (ASP) is a long-term planning document that guides growth and development of undeveloped lands (greenfield areas) into a complete community.
